WHAT WE DO AT RECEWAPEC
RECEWAPEC has been working for old persons and disadvantaged elderly communities in Cameroon since 1996
The Regional Centre for the Welfare of Aging Persons in Cameroon as a non-governmental organization with headquarters at Bambui – Fonta road, Northwest, Cameroon works with and for the elderly persons, in partnership with other stakeholders at home and abroad.
- We’re creating and expanding IGAs-Income Generating Activities (bee farming, pig farming, poultry, gardening, fish farming, mushroom cultivation and alot more) to improve on the livelihood of old persons and disadvantaged elderly communities.
- We’re lobbying and advocating for the formulation and implementation of policies and rights in favor of old age people in Cameroon.
- We’re advocating for appropriate health care schemes and adequate services to cater for old age people in Cameroon.
- We’re offering training and workshop programs to community personnel and volunteers on aging issues and possibly resolutions.
Our core values to what we do
We’ve been working with and for old age people throughout Cameroon since 1996 as RECEHWEDEV and from 2001 as RECEWAPEC, helping aged persons, especially the poor and vulnerable to cope with crises and shocks, get favorable laws enacted to improve on their well being, invest in their productivity and health to living an active aging life.
